Water Conservation Header
Blue Ridge Pipeline

Conservation is an important issue to everyone here in the Rim Country.  Many customers of the Payson Water Department have already discovered that using water wisely is easy and simple.  Residential usage has dropped substantially in the past decade from a high of 104 gallons per person per day in 1996 to approximately 84 gallons per person per day in 2006.

XeriscapeWise water use stretches our water resources, which is especially critical during times of drought and also during the summer months when we experience a large influx of visitors from the Valley searching for a respite from the high temperatures.   On hot summer days, water use greatly exceeds that of the average winter day.

FlowersThe Payson Town Council, with strong citizen support, passed water conservation Resolution #2367 in an effort to promote sensible water use within our community. Each year, on or before May 1st, the Water Department reports to the Town Council the amount of precipitation, as measured by the National Weather Service, for the immediately previous twelve-month period. Based on this and other water resource data, a Water Conservation Level is determined that will remain in effect for the next twelve month period.
We are currently at WATER CONSERVATION LEVEL I.
